JOIN US IN THE FIGHT FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE
YWCA Brooklyn is a recognized national leader in the struggle for racial justice and equality for women, organizing for social change in Brooklyn and beyond. We prepare women and girls to be leaders and advocate for themselves and others as they come together to fight for a more equitable, safe and healthy world.
Racial Justice
Participants in YWCA Brooklyn’s programs work toward school discipline and juvenile justice reform, advocate for equity in K-12 and post-secondary education, and fight for voting rights and against racial profiling.
Gender Equality
Women and girls make their voices heard in support of workplace equity, an increase in the minimum wage, LGBTQ rights and public benefits reform.
Women's Health & Safety
We push for programs and policies that help prevent adolescent pregnancies, reduce teen dating violence, improve reproductive health and provide comprehensive healthcare for all. In addition, we raise awareness about the dangers and prevalence of intimate partner violence, sexual assault and harassment and sex trafficking.
