YWCA BROOKLYN WELCOMES YOU!

YWCA Brooklyn’s Social Justice Community Center is a vital asset to the Brooklyn community, drawing more than 25,000 participants annually to year-round free programming that fosters a more inclusive and just society. We facilitate borough-wide events that expand opportunities for community education and plant seeds that will develop into long-term, sustainable change in Brooklyn communities, including economic empowerment, women’s health and wellness, domestic violence prevention, anti-racism, and social justice advocacy activities, initiatives and conferences. Our proximity to the largest transportation hub in Brooklyn makes travel to our Social Justice Community Center and theater easy from anywhere in the borough.

We also help nonprofit and civic organizations bring the community together by providing free and subsidized office, meeting and program space. From community-supported gardens to Brooklyn’s important civic organizations to music, visual arts and plays in our restored theater, YWCA Brooklyn provides space for more than 100 community organizations each year. We are dedicated to strengthening the community’s capacity to promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all by subsidizing our spaces to help other nonprofit and civic organizations bring the Brooklyn community together.
