NYC Teen Dating Violence Awareness Walk
The 13th annual NYC Teen Dating Violence Awareness Walk will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2025! This city-wide event was launched in 2012 in response to the growing epidemic of teen dating and sexual violence, affecting 19% of teens. Each year, the annual walk shines a light on this critical issue by mobilizing its surrounding community including teens, survivors, schools, nonprofit organizations, elected officials, and community partners for an annual rally and march across the Brooklyn Bridge.
Register today to walk and raise awareness!
Schedule
Join us to listen to teens, elected officials, and advocates taking a stand against teen dating violence at 10 am at Tillary Street & Cadman Plaza, Downtown Brooklyn.
After the speeches and performances, we will march across the Brooklyn Bridge chanting against the violence and end with a rally in front of City Hall.
Students can earn community service hours by attending the event or flyering at their schools or in their communities.
We invite allies of all ages to come raise awareness on teen dating violence, an issue that affects 19% of teens!
YWCA Brooklyn is a proud co-sponsor of the 2025 walk alongside Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Day One, CONNECT, Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, the Office of Council Member Alexa Avilés, Safe Horizon, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV), and Violence Intervention Program (VIP).
